Rotate and flip: straighten a tilted photo in one click
Rotating the image
Open "Image → Rotate". The window offers two settings with a live preview:
- Right angle: pick 90, 180 or 270 degrees to switch between portrait and landscape or turn it upside down;
- Rotate: drag the slider or enter any angle from 0 to 360, measured clockwise. To straighten a photo 2 degrees to the left, enter
358.
Shortcut
L rotates 90 degrees to the left. Rotation applies to the selected layer; with a single image that is the whole picture.After a small rotation the corners show empty space; trim it off with the Crop tool.
Flipping
"Image → Flip → Horizontal" mirrors left and right, which fixes back-to-front text in selfies; "Image → Flip → Vertical" turns it upside down.
Rotating just one layer
If the canvas has several layers (say a background and a sticker) and you only want to turn one:
- Click that layer in the Layers panel on the right;
- Use "Image → Rotate", or type an angle into Rotate in the Layer details panel and press Enter.
Only that layer turns; the others stay as they are. The small circular arrow next to Rotate resets it to 0.
